I started watching news radio during its first season.  I was in high school at the time, and my days consisted of going to school, then working a shift at Taco Bell, and then coming home smelling like tacos to sit and FINALLY get to the best part of my day - watching News Radio.  Even today, the opening jingle plays in my head when something good is happening in my life - it is the theme music for “Good times, good times.” Everything about the show was a balm to my soul after those long days.  In an era where animation was getting…weird (looking at you, adult swim), and sitcoms were becoming stale, News Radio was a bright spot, glowing with absurd, but still somehow relatable, hijinx and shenanigans.  Most sitcoms had a singular crazy character for comedic effect, but Newsradio brilliantly made EVERYONE a crazy character.  This was its stroke of genius, one that was only made possible by the magical synthesis between the work of the writers and the cast.  I still carry so many, many parts of this show with me, decades later.  The characters, the writing, the set, all of it coming together to create a brief moment of entertainment perfection that has stood the test of time, still bring joy to so many fans, new and old, even today.  The only thing left to say about it is…Bitchcakes!
